This is part of the projects proposed by the Final Sun Valley Watershed Management Plan, completed by the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works in May 2004 and adopted by the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors in June 2004.

This is part of a sustainable watershed demonstration project that had the support of Tree People.
